This class explores the connection between physicality and emotion in acting the audiobook.
What is the importance of warming up, not only our voices but our bodies, in acting an audiobook? In this class, we will cover a thorough but quick and dirty vocal and physical warm-up, to get us out of our heads and into our bodies and emotions.
How do we discover and make specific choices about a character’s physicality? What do we look for in text preparation? How do we use that physicality in the booth?
How do we allow feeling to drop further into our bodies in order to deepen our commitment to the character’s emotional journey?
This class will cover a rehearsal process, also quick and dirty, that allows you to explore, and then assimilate, physical, vocal, and emotional elements of character.
