Physicality and Feeling

This class explores the connection between physicality and emotion in acting the audiobook.

  • What is the importance of warming up, not only our voices but our bodies, in acting an audiobook? In this class, we will cover a thorough but quick and dirty vocal and physical warm-up, to get us out of our heads and into our bodies and emotions.

  • How do we discover and make specific choices about a character’s physicality? What do we look for in text preparation? How do we use that physicality in the booth?

  • How do we allow feeling to drop further into our bodies in order to deepen our commitment to the character’s emotional journey?

This class will cover a rehearsal process, also quick and dirty, that allows you to explore, and then assimilate, physical, vocal, and emotional elements of character.

Class is $99, payable via PayPal (@shannonmarguerite) or Zelle (preferred, 703-861-4261).
